Animal Cruelty In The Name of Art!‏

This is an EXTREME animal cruelty act! This dog was apparently tied to the neck and left to die as a 'display of art' in an art gallery in 2007. Given its 'unique' way of expressing art that had drawn 'curious' crowd to his gallery, the artist recently announced that he would be using a similar method again this year!

God created animals for mankind not meant to be abused in that way, especially for such pure innocent breed.

It shows how our young Argentinean brothers continue to stand in a firm line of defense for God's righteousnous despite receiving hurls of physical and verbal abuses, spats and humiliation, against not just themselves, but against our Heavenly Father and Mother Mary. The angry congregation, who seemingly went out of self-control, reminds me of a similar congregation that Christ faced as He suffered in Golgotha the day He was cruxified.

What is this world becoming? Lets PRAY for the conversion of the hearts of men and women, to be enlightened with God's Grace, Light and Truth.

Young person tells experience of defending Cathedral from feminist horde

Buenos Aires, Oct 10, 2008 / 01:28 pm (CNA).- Pablo is one of the one hundred Argentinean young people who stood outside the Cathedral of Neuquen on August 17 to shield the church from protests by feminists who want abortion to be legalized.
Thousands of people have been moved by a video of the young people posted on CNA’s YouTube channel, which shows the ferocity of the confrontation by the feminists who were gathered for the National Encounter of Women in Neuquen. They shouted insults and threw objects at the young people who were shielding the Cathedral.

One of the young people at the Cathedral was 21 year-old Pablo, who was interviewed by Javier Tebas of the website ReligionEnLibertad.com and revealed details about what happened that afternoon. “Everything lasted more or less an hour and forty minutes. It was terrible. They wouldn’t go away. They screamed at us, they spat on us, they threw cans and rocks, they tore up an Argentinean flag and burned it. We were only praying one Hail Mary after another, without stopping, praying for each one of them, praying for each aborted child, praying for our Church and her pastors, and also in reparation for the blasphemies,” Pablo said. Despite the tension, “we felt an extraordinary peace, and all of us who were there agreed [it was] a peace that cannot come from anyone else besides our Lord and God. We felt his consolation in our souls.”

Asked if they felt tempted to respond to the aggressions with violence, Pablo responded that all the young people came with the intention of “resisting to the last drop of our blood. Some guys up in front became very upset, because they insulted the Virgin Mary, calling her a lesbian. You feel like doing everything, but we know that our testimony needs to be different, and the virtue of fortitude is more perfect when we resist than when we attack.”

According to Pablo, after that experience in Neuquen, the young people were more committed to “living life as it truly is: a battle, a war.” “I think it is time to wake up, we must be aware that if we don’t do it, nobody will. Nobody will bear witness to hope if we Catholics do not do it. The world is waiting, the world expects that we go out to find it and conquer it.”

A Prayer Like This Begins With Me (with Special Coverage of Brutal Violence in India)

Dearest Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

In your comfort zone, have you ever wondered how our brothers and sisters are doing on another side of the world...like India?

Well, I do find myself getting too comfortable with the abundant blessings from God from time to time and I must admit, they aint always free! It sometimes takes a whole lot of grace to appreciate His kinda blessings (hahaa!) that frequently comes with spices of life we usually call 'trials', 'tribulations' and 'whats-NOTS'. But hey, thats what makes life amazingly interesting! I particularly enjoy the generous SURPRISES that flow sparingly after all that 'jazz' and usually least expectedly, at His time. Where would rainbow be without the storm?

On a similar agenda and a more serious note, my heart once again calls out for your humble prayers, where there lies a Spiritual Warfare.

I have received numerous emails, information and prayer requests on the brutality against our brothers and sisters in Christ, the Children of God, in India. For your reading convenience, I have compiled them into the following so that you may too have an insight of the gravity of the unjustifiable violence taking place in Orissa and Mangalore, India.

You may have already heard the Orissa anti-Christian violences such as these :

1. NUN REPORTED BURNT ALIVE: A Christian woman, possibly a nun, was reported burnt alive on 25th August 2008 by a group of Vishwa Hindu Parishad mob which stormed the orphanage she ran in the district of Bargarh (Orissa). Police Superintendent Ashok Biswall has told this to news reporters. A priest who was at the orphanage was also badly hurt and is now being treated in hospital for multiple burns.

2. NUN RAPED: A young Catholic Nun of the Cuttack Bhubaneswar diocese working Jan Vikas Kendra, the Social Service Centre at Nuagaon in Kandhamal was reportedly gang raped on 24th August 2008 by groups of Hindutva extremists before the building itself was destroyed.

3. SENIOR PRIEST AND NUN INJURED: Fr Thomas, director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Kanjimendi, less than a kilometer away from the Social Service Centre, and another Nun were injured when the centre was attacked. They were taken to the police station in a disheveled state as the armed mob bayed for their blood. The Pastoral centre was then set afire.

4. BALLIGUDA CHURCH BUILDINGS DESTROYED AGAIN: On 24th August 2008 evening lynch mobs at the block headquarters of Balliguda, in the very heart of Kandhamal district, which had seen much violence between 24th and 26th December 2007, attacked and destroyed a Presbytery, convent and hostel damaging the properties.

5. The mobs in Balliguda caught hold of two boys of the Catholic hostel and tonsured their heads.

6. PHULBANI CHURCH DAMAGED: On 25th august 2008 morning followers of the late Lakshmanananda Saraswati damaged the Catholic Church in Phulbani, the district headquarter town.

7. MOTHER TERESA BROTHERS ASHRAM ATTACKED: mobs attacked the Mother Teresa Brothers' residence and hospital in Srasanada, destroyed once before and rebuilt two months ago, and beat up the patients. Fundamentalists have targeted Priests, religious and also the Faithful in Pobingia also.

8. BHUBANESWAR BISHOP'S HOUSE ATTACKED: On the morning of 25th August 2008, violent mobs made several attempts to enter the compounds of Catholic Church and Archbishop's house in the heart of the Capital of the State of Orissa. They could not enter because of the police presence. They threw stones at the guesthouse of Archbishop's House, damaging windows.

9. DUBURI PARISH: Another group of fundamentalists entered presbytery in Duburi parish, managed by the SVDs and destroyed and damaged property. Two priests of the parish are missing.

10. Mr. Jamaj Pariccha, Director of Gramya Pragati, is attacked and his property, vehicle etc. damaged, burnt and looted.

11. A Baptist Church in Akamra Jila in Bhubaneswar is also damaged.

12. Christian institutions like St. Arnold's School (Kalinga Bihar), AND NISWASS report some damage.

13. BOUDH DISTRICT [Adjoining Kandhamal]: Fundamentalists enter the Catholic parish church and destroy property. People are fleeing to safer places. But nothing seems safe.

14. Muniguda Catholic Fathers and Nuns' residence have been damaged.

15. Sambalpur HM Sister's residence (Ainthapalli) has suffered damage.

16. Padanpur: One priest is attacked and admitted to a hospital. Hostel boys and the in charge have moved away from the place.

17. Madhupur Catholic Church currently under attack.

18. SMALL CHURCHES: Attempted violence on small churches in various districts, including Padampur, Sambalpur near GM College, Talsera, Dangsoroda, Narayanipatara, Muniguda, Tummiibandh, Tangrapada, Phulbani, Balliguda, Kalingia, Chakapad, Srasanranda.

19. VILLAGE CHRISTIAN HOUSES ATTACKED: Houses attacked on forest hamlets of Balliguda, Kanjamandi Nuaguam (K.Nuaguam), Tiangia(G.Udayagiri), Padangiri, Tikabali.

20. KALAHANDI DISTRICT: houses burnt even though the district is more than 300 kilometers from the place where Swami Lakshmanananda was killed.

21. Pastor Sikandar Singh of the Pentecostal Mission beaten up and his house burnt in Bhawanipatna.

22. Kharihar: 3 Christian shops were looted and burnt. Pastor Alok Das and Pastor I M Senapati beaten up.

23. Aampani: Pastor David Diamond Pahar, Pastor Pravin Ship, Pastor Pradhan and Pastor Barik beaten up and chased away with theirfamilies.

24. Naktikani: Mob surrounds village to attack Christians. The government has sent forces, it is reported.

God's Victory! - A Living Testimonial

Dearest Prayer Warriors,

This is a delayed email that could have been sent much earlier. My sincere apologies for this. Somehow, there tends to be a procastination (or lame excuse I wld call) when it comes to sharing the glory of God. Well, it is better to be late than never haa :*)

Essentially, just like to share that your prayers had brought a new lease of HOPE for Jeana and her family. Just last month, they were told by their doctor that the cancer cells that Jeana's mother had snc Apr this year on her breast and back spine had somehow vanished!!! She was supposedly on her last stage of cancer. This caught the doctor dumbfounded coz all Mdm Ho had gone thru over the last 3-4 months was just the usual chemo and radio-therapy.

This would not have been possible without the grace and love of our Heavenly Father. I thank you my dearest friends for BEING that "special someone" who had made a difference to someone's life and family. Your prayers had been heard and your faith had once again saw you through the journey less travelled.

Am leaving this note with Jeana's and my heartfelt appreciation for your prayers.

Dearest Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

It is not easy to write this email.

Last Sunday, I received news that Jeana's (a Christian friend of mine who was baptised recently) mother (Mdm Ho Yuke Heng) went for a spinal operation a week ago and it was during her operation that her surgeon detected some cancer cells in her. Unfortunately, they were not able to establish what type of cancer it is and it was only upon further diagnosis yesterday, that the doctor unveiled that her mother is already at an advanced stage of cancer. Over the last 3 days, her mother has been in intense pain, part of the symptoms of cancer and side effects of her spinal operation. Due to the intensity of her pain, she has not been able to sleep over the last 2 days.

Her mother's medical condition came to me as a sadden news as I know her mother as one who is loving, kind and humble. She even cooked lunch for a couple of us over the recent Lunar New Year and spared us from washing the dishes after meal. Apart from Jeana, her family members are all Budhists.

Jeana is known to her friends as an impressive woman with a strong character, in terms of her pursue of life, dreams and beliefs. It hence pains me when she broke down over the phone when I finally had a chance to speak to her this morning. She shared, 'Adele(my baptism name), I know its God's will and we are to believe and accept His will. But if only there is an option, I really wish God will take me instead of my mom...all I pray for now is that God will show my mom 'light' and ease her pain ...'.

As ONE community before Christ, I sincerely appeal to all of you my dearest brothers & sisters in Christ to PRAY for 1) Mdm Ho Yuke Heng's salvation; 2) a miraculous healing for her; and 3) continuous physical and emotional strength and faith that she & her family needs to take them through especially for this period of time.

This is not meant to be a deliberate chain email, but for the love of God & our beloved sister, please email this to your cell friends, church, prayer ministries and all those whom you trust may dedicate a daily prayer for Mdm Ho Yuke Heng and her family.
